Welcome to Viking International School
Creating an empathetic community of lifelong learners and world changers
Viking International School is an international community of learners, families, and educators. Our diversity of cultures, religions, and worldviews helps us to celebrate, learn, and become global citizens committed to making a brighter future for all. As such, we collaborate with local and international partners to help our work in educating the whole person with robust academics balanced with a strong focus on student wellbeing and mental health, sustainability, and STEM.
We pride ourselves on the community that we have all jointly created where children feel safe, happy, and challenged. Our learners are excited to ask questions, experiment, and find answers in our inquiry-based learning classrooms. We explore the world through units of work that allow us to dive deeply into subject matter and carry out our own research to find answers.
STEM makes us engineers so that we can build stuff. When I grow up I’m going to build a bridge like the big one that connects to Sweden.

I really, really like STEM because you get to do fun experiments, challenges, coding, and real life things like rain gauges.

Corona taught us that prioritizing mental and emotional health is absolutely essential. VIS has created a weekly class for all students that teaches them how to form relationships, understand their own emotions and learn strategies for emotions and communication. We have two therapy dogs that focus on supporting our students and are always available for a cuddle or to hear a good book.
